The Grand Gala at the Wayne Theater

The Wayne Theatre presents The Grand Gala fundraiser on Friday, May 17, at 6 p.m. Dress to the nines and support the Wayne during our annual Gala event where we literally roll out the red carpet for you – our strongest supporters.

The Grand Gala will feature decadent food and drinks with live music and popup performances happening throughout the evening. A live auction will also be held.

The main event will begin at 8 p.m. with Illusionist Mike Super, as seen on America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller and the winner of NBC’s hit series Phenomenon.

Mike floored viewers and celebrity judges with his trademark magic that is continually hailed as the most original magic in the history of the show. Whether it’s through television, stage or simply one-on-one, Mike Super’s personality and humor reaches out and enchants the public. His appeal to both young and old has made him one of the most sought after Mystifiers in the world! Join the journey of emotions from laughter, intrigue, danger, fear, wonder, anticipation, tears and sentimentality that only Mike Super delivers.

Following the live auction and mystifying performance by Super, a silent disco will take place in the Custin Cabaret to wrap up the evening.

The Silent History And Healing Through Time

The Conversation on Race and Diversity continues...

The Silent History and Healing Through Time

Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 7:00pm

Staunton City Hall, 116 West Beverley St.

A group of local citizens from different backgrounds will share their stories of what it has been like to live during segregation, school integration and up to the present day.

Once again, we will meet to discuss issues that are still prevalent in this day and age. Progressing through the 21st century, we find ourselves and our country at a critical period. A time where, if we refuse to accept each other for who we are and our past, progress will not be possible. The hard discussions must take place and we must engage in the even more difficult task of listening. Edmund Burke once said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." We will do this hard task of conversing with one another and trying to find ways to move forward.
